The Architectural Education of Southeast University started in 1927. It is the earliest example in the Architectural Education of Chinese universities, and also one of the most important research bases and leaders of Architectural Science and education in China. Since its inception, our discipline construction has integrated the international advanced and diversified architectural academic thoughts and educational ideas. After more than 90 years of exploration and development, it has formed the academic characteristics of "equal emphasis on technology, seeking good things" and the college culture of "rigorous, elegant, realistic and innovative".

The main body of the school of architecture is the school of architecture of the former Institute of architecture, which has three disciplines: architecture, urban and rural planning and landscape architecture. It provides three levels of professional education: Bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctor's degree. It also has specialized education such as urban architectural heritage protection.
The school of architecture consists of the Department of architecture, the Department of urban planning, the Department of landscape science, the Institute of architectural history and theory, the Institute of architectural technology and science, the Institute of fine arts and design, and the Institute of architectural calculation and application. There are three ministerial scientific research platforms: the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of education for urban and architectural heritage protection, the key scientific research base of the International Bureau of cultural relics for the study of traditional wood building construction technology and the base for the introduction of modern urban and rural environmental integration technology innovation, and one provincial scientific research platform: Jiangsu urban and rural and landscape Digital Technology Engineering Center.
The college has more than 140 full-time teachers, including 5 academicians, 2 Changjiang Scholars and 3 National Engineering Survey and design masters. Under the leadership of academician qikang, academician zhongxuzheng, academician Cheng Taining, Academician Wang Jianguo and academician Duanjin, a first-class teaching staff with diversified international background and academic structure has been formed. There are about 1700 students in the college, including more than 800 undergraduate students, more than 700 postgraduate students and more than 200 doctoral students. Most of these students are top talents in China's college entrance examination, or come from China's high-level construction colleges. The first-class teachers and the first-class students come together to explore the essence of human settlements, forming a vibrant learning community and research community. The College maintains a normal relationship of cooperative teaching and academic exchange with more than 30 international first-class construction colleges and universities in Europe, North America, Asia, etc. Every year, more than 20 internationally renowned professors teach the planned courses to students in our college, and more than 100 overseas students study in our college. The College encourages the concept of open education, and more than 30 planning, design and construction enterprises at home and abroad provide students with internships for the college and maintain close cooperation and co construction.

Professional setup
Architecture includes architecture, urban and rural planning and landscape architecture. The length of schooling is five years. Candidates are required to have certain spatial understanding and creative thinking ability. In recent years, the employment rate of each major is 100%, among which about 30% of the graduates are studying in China, and about 30% of them are studying abroad. Every year, many undergraduates are admitted by Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of technology, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, University of California, British Construction Union College, Cambridge University, Federal Institute of technology of Zurich, Switzerland and other world-class universities.

Through a rigorous and lively teaching process, students can complete the required credits and obtain a bachelor's degree in architecture upon graduation. After graduation, students can continue to study for master's degree or doctor's degree, or go to various design institutions, state organs, colleges and universities, scientific research institutions to engage in design, management, teaching, research and other work.
Urban and rural planning
With urban material form planning as the main line, planning and design and planning theory as the core courses, we will learn relevant professional theory courses and professional basic courses, and participate in a number of practical teaching links, so as to train students to have the quality and accomplishment that they should have as future planners and senior managers of planning. This major focuses on the planning of comprehensive quality education and professional ability training, pays attention to open education, and cultivates students' social adaptability. In 2016, the major passed the national urban planning professional assessment again, and obtained A-level excellent. This major is a brand major in Jiangsu Province. Through rigorous, realistic and lively teaching process, students can obtain bachelor of engineering degree if they have completed the required credits. After graduation, students can continue to study for master's degree or doctor's degree, or go to design institutions, state organs, institutions of higher learning, scientific research institutions to engage in planning and design, management, teaching, research and other work.
Landscape architecture
Founded in 1986, it is one of the landscape science majors with early history, strong overall strength and wide social impact, and it is a comprehensive discipline integrating image thinking and logic thinking. With landscape planning and design as the core, the major studies related professional theoretical courses and professional basic courses, supplemented by a number of practical teaching links, aiming to cultivate high-level talents with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence and physical education, solid foundation, reasonable knowledge structure, practical and composite landscape design. Through a rigorous and lively teaching process, students can complete the required credits and obtain a Bachelor of engineering degree upon graduation. After graduation, students can continue to study for master's degree or doctor's degree, or to engage in landscape planning and design, management, teaching, research and other work in design institutions, state organs, institutions of higher learning and scientific research institutions.

Major courses
According to the overall framework of "broad foundation, strong backbone and frontier expansion" of the undergraduate professional education of the school of architecture of Southeast University, in the stage of general education, three first-class disciplines (architecture, urban and rural planning, landscape architecture) connect with each other, horizontally integrate professional basic training, build a core basic teaching platform, and consolidate the general foundation. In terms of curriculum setting, we should strengthen the teaching of basic courses of mathematics and physics, and jointly build and share basic courses of large categories (subject introduction, design basis, historical basis, art and media).
Major diversion schemes
Based on the principle of "province by province, volunteer first, and sorted by points", and according to the indicators of province's professional distribution in the school's major enrollment plan of the year, students' professional distribution volunteer and college entrance examination scores are divided. Freshmen of the year (with undergraduate status of Southeast University) are enrolled as "architecture" (regardless of major). After several weeks of professional cognitive education after enrollment, the students choose the professional direction according to the cognition and personal interest of architecture, urban and rural planning and landscape architecture under the "architecture" category, and fill in and submit the application for shunting. According to the students' wishes, they are admitted separately according to the provinces where the college entrance examination is held. The order of admission is from high to low. In principle, we will complete the large-scale distribution work within one month of the opening of the school and report it to the school for professional adjustment.
