For most of our examinees, there is no chance of retest or adjustment in public courses, professional courses or total scores, that is to say, failure in postgraduate entrance examination.
However, since 15 years ago, we have issued the policy of exceptional retest, which has a glimmer of hope for those students with outstanding professional performance but slightly lower score in public courses. However, this set of procedures is quite complicated. If there is such a need, please contact the enrollment unit in time, consult the required supporting materials in advance, and strive for the last chance.

Article 52
Candidates whose scores in public subjects in the preliminary examination are slightly lower than the basic requirements of the national preliminary examination, but whose scores in professional subjects are especially excellent or who have outstanding performance in scientific research and innovation, may be allowed to participate in the first voluntary professional retest of the first voluntary registration unit (referred to as the "exceptional retest").
In the second round examination, priority should be given to basic subjects, hard majors, and subjects and majors urgently needed by the state but with relatively insufficient students. For a major with insufficient qualified volunteer students, the enrollment unit shall actively do a good job in the adjustment work, and shall not only complete the enrollment plan or protect the volunteer students and reduce the standard for re examination. Generally, the qualified students (including the adjustment students) with sufficient enrollment majors will not be re examined. No adjustment is allowed for the candidates in the exceptional retest.
To summarize the requirements of the exceptional retest:
1. The subjects of the public courses in the preliminary examination are slightly lower than the national line (the score range of the exception is limited to 5 points, and the total score and the single subject cannot be broken at the same time.) In addition, the students are allowed to take part in the second round examination in an exceptional way due to their outstanding achievements in professional courses or outstanding achievements in scientific research;
2. Those who are short of "cold" students and in urgent need of talents are given priority to re examination;
3. If the source of students is sufficient (including the adjustment of students), no more exceptional retest will be conducted.
