Why use POLYDIMETHYLSILOXANE IN COSMETICS?

The polydimethylsiloxane, or CPS, is one of many types of silicone. In general, silicone is known for its Lubricity, water resistance, and gloss. (imagine pouring Armor Al over your head, a famous brand of car cleaning and upkeep that makes the object of cleaning shiny and new.). There are many types of silicone -- some are thick and viscous, while others are refreshingly light. CPS is a water-thin type, so it dilutes the thick, oily silicone well. Because of this, it is often used in combination with polydimethylsiloxane. And it’s unstable, which means it quickly evaporated. So not only does it help push away the heavy silicone, it also doesn’t make the hair feel heavy after the task. In rinse products, the CPS can easily produce a lubricated and Silky feel. In stationary styling products (that’s what you’re asking) , it can make your hair as moist as you want without looking like it’s going to pop. Of course, there are other ingredients in the recipe that also play a role, but your hairdresser is recommending something based on CPS.
