On April 2, Professor Tong Linsu, a leading figure in China's display industry and doctoral supervisor of Southeast University, died in Nanjing at the age of 87.
Professor Tong Linsu, male, born in December 1933 in Shanghai, native place: Shenyang, Liaoning Province. He is a doctoral supervisor of the school of Electronic Science and engineering of Southeast University, a government subsidy recipient of the State Council, one of the leading experts in the field of Electronic Physics in China, a famous expert and leader in the field of display technology in China, and a member of the Communist Party of China.
Diligent and studious, loyal to the country
Professor Tong Linsu's father is a famous architect, Mr. Tong Gu. He was fond of mathematical physics since childhood. After graduating from the middle school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, he was admitted to the Physics Department of Peking University. During his study, he worked with famous Chinese physicists Zhou Peiyuan, Hu Ning and Wang Zhuxi, laying a solid theoretical and physical foundation. After graduation in July 1955, in response to the call of the state, he joined the Dalian naval base of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, becoming a member of the first nuclear submarine development team in China, and then participated in the bullet research project of the team of Qian Sanqiang and he Zehui. In 1957, he was transferred to Nanjing Institute of Technology (now Southeast University) to teach, and successively served as assistant professor, lecturer, associate professor, professor and doctoral supervisor.
Study hard and lead the industry
Professor Tong Lin Su has been engaged in the research of electron beam physics and technology in Nanjing Institute of Technology (now Southeast University). From September to December 1979, he was a visiting scholar of Institut f ü R theoretische Physik der Technische Hochschule Darmstadt and institut f ü R theoretische elektronphysik der Universitat tudingen in Germany; from May 1995 to December 1999, he was a visiting scholar of the Department of electrical engineering of the University of Southern California in the United States. Professor Tong Linsu is a senior member of IEEE, Former society for information Display (SID) vice chairman of Beijing Branch, academician of China Electronics Society, chairman of CRT branch of Vacuum Electronics Society of China Electronics Society, deputy group leader and group leader of color tube expert group of China International Engineering Consulting Company, former consultant of China Vacuum Electronics Industry Association, consultant of China imaging tube industry association, Physics Department of Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and University of electronic technology He is a part-time professor of science, the first general manager and consultant of Dongfei display tube technology research and development center of Southeast University, the deputy director of Electronics Research Institute of Southeast University, and the leader of physics electronics discipline of Southeast University. In the 1980s, Professor Tong Linsu was appointed by Zhu Rongji and Zhang Jinfu to lead the localization of TV picture tubes, which has brought great economic benefits to the country in the wave of consumer electronics industry, television. Since 1987, he has participated in and presided over the evaluation of 22 national large-scale color picture tube projects on behalf of the state, saving more than 1 billion yuan of investment for the state and forming one of the pillar industries of China's electronic industry. In 1994, it cooperated with Philips of the Netherlands to establish the first long-term cooperation between China's institutions of higher learning and foreign famous multinational companies "DFT display tube technology research and development center". Through the joint efforts of both sides, the center has now become the first-class research and development center in the Asia Pacific region, and has cultivated and created a long-term stable academic echelon with its own characteristics, which is mainly composed of young and middle-aged people, with a reasonable combination of old and middle-aged people.
He is a good writer
Since 1975, he has presided over the following creative research projects:
(1) National 31 cm black and white kinescope joint design (first prize of science and technology progress of Ministry of electronic industry);
(2) 31 cm black and white flat picture tube and TV;
(3) 10 cm black and white flat picture tube and TV set (annual output of 400000);
(4) New high-resolution color kinescope ("Research on improved kinescope" key project of the State Council's introduction of foreign intelligence leading group in 1988);
(5) 1000 lines of monochromatic inner biased kinescope ("Research on improved kinescope" in 1996, Ministry of electronic industry passed the design finalization appraisal);
(6) 54 cm color internal bias kinescope (the "eighth five year plan scientific and technological research project" passed the acceptance and ministerial appraisal in 1996. In 1998, he was awarded the second prize of science and technology progress by the State Education Commission, and the achievement was rated as one of the eight new technologies of color tube in 1997 by the international authoritative organization Stanford Research Institute International;
Professor Tong Linsu has published more than 100 academic papers in important domestic and international academic journals, presided over the compilation of four monographs and two translations of black and white kinescope and display tube, computer aided design of electronic optics, color kinescope and applied electronic optics, and obtained 10 invention patents. Professor Tong Linsu has won the following awards and honorary titles over the years: (1) the first prize and the second prize of science and technology progress of the Ministry of electronic industry;
(2) One second prize of science and technology progress of the State Education Commission;
(3) In 1990, he was awarded the expert with outstanding contribution by young and middle-aged people;
(4) In 1991, he was awarded excellent Postgraduate Tutor in Jiangsu Province;
(5) In 1991, he was granted special government allowance by the State Council;
(6) In 1985, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1994, he was awarded excellent teacher of Southeast University;
(7) In 2000, he was awarded as a graduate tutor of Southeast University with outstanding contributions.
