As D4 has the dangerous properties of PBT and vpvb, and D5 has the dangerous properties of vpvb, the EU believes that washing with water after using some cosmetics containing D4 and D5 will cause environmental risks. However, the Ministry of environmental protection of the people's Republic of China has issued the list of priority controlled chemicals (the first batch) to the national development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of science and technology, the Ministry of industry and information technology, the Ministry of transport and other departments for comments. Among them, octamethyltetrasiloxane (D4) is included in the list, which is classified as PBT chemicals, that is, chemicals with persistence, bioaccumulation and toxicity. This means that D4 and D5 will be hit hard as commodities. The impact on some industries with ring body as direct application form, such as daily chemical industry, may be fundamental. Therefore, it is urgent to find alternative D5 products.
In this regard, sf3.5 was born. SF3.5 is a linear silicone used for personal care. It is a volatile carrier. It is similar to the properties of silicone used in skin care applications. It provides emollients and hydrophobicity for lotion and cream. They are also used as carriers of hair care agents; they are good for wet combing. Sf3.5 is partially volatile, which can be used to replace volatile siloxane and provide unique performance. Sf3.5 has a higher flash point than D5, so it is less flammable. High flash point is enough to eliminate processing concerns and is easy to heat. Using sf3.5 cold working is more simple, and it is often suitable for airtight and room temperature processing. High dispersion coefficient and uniform film formation can improve the efficiency.
