A person's situation
I come from a double non (eternal pain) college in Hebei Province. My undergraduate major is measurement and control technology and instruments, ranking 5 / 104 (the research guarantee rate of the school is 10%), and I passed the grade 4 and grade 6 freshmen. In terms of competition, I have a number of school level competitions, including a National Award (water) for mathematical modeling of electric cup, a national innovation and a patent for scientific research. In the pre promotion and exemption, I got the offer from Southeast University, Dalian University of technology, Chongqing University and Northeast University, and finally chose the Institute of Instrument Science and engineering of Southeast University.
For me, the research guarantee process can be described as a roller coaster. In the first half of the period, everything was not going well, but in the later part, it turned out to be dark. In this process, I have gained some experience, and I hope my younger brother and younger sister can get some help from my experience.
Experience of the second Research Institute
① Prophase
My first pre push free interview was in optics engineering of Jingyi College of Tianjin University. The interview time was probably in early July. When I received the interview notice, I was still very happy and concerned. After all, it was the first interview. In order to interview, I read the main contents of "Engineering Optics" edited by Professor Yu Daoyin of Tianjin University several times, and prepared the personal introduction in Chinese and English and the English vocabulary of optics (the interview required 5 minutes in English).
But when I went to Tianjin University for an interview, the teacher didn't have an English interview. As long as the introduction was in Chinese (the teacher didn't listen to the introduction, just used this time to look at your materials), the questions I asked were optical related, but there were many biases. For my major, which was only optical edge, it could be said that The final result is still unsatisfactory.
My second interview was at the summer camp of Beijing Institute of optoelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In fact, when I signed up, I said that the time of summer camp was August 12-15. I didn't get a call until the afternoon of August 14. I thought it was cold. It wasn't until that night that I got a call asking if I could go to the summer camp and telling me the time had changed to 20-21.
After I went to Beijing, there were still some accidents. Let's not talk about them here. On the first day of the summer camp, the teachers and students of Beijing Institute of Optoelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences introduced the general situation of the Institute to us, and the interview began the next morning. The interview is still the same procedure, first in Chinese, and then asked me a few English questions, and then asked about the project.
However, all the problems of photoelectricity are that, although excellent campers will be sent, if you want to come, you have to go again and take part in the assessment. Although I only got one qualification in the end
After these two interviews, it's not true that I lost. After all, it's about to start school. I haven't got an offer yet. In order to have more opportunities for myself, I reported a lot of school's advance exemptions during that time (now I feel a bit possessed).
② Later period
In fact, my turning point is from Southeast University. The interview of Southeast University is on September 9, but my classmates and I came to Nanjing ahead of time. We played in Nanjing for two days. In these two days, the city of Nanjing left a good impression on me.
On the morning of September 9, the interview of Southeast University began with an introduction in Chinese. The next three questions were drawn by myself (two Chinese and one English, all professional courses). Then the teacher will ask you questions according to your resume, mainly about my innovation and patent. About five days after the interview, I announced the scores and admissions of all the interviewers in the college. I was ranked 21 / 134 (as if I was) and admitted 80 people in total, so I got my first offer.
After I came back from Nanjing, I got offers from Northeast University, Chongqing University and Dalian University of Technology (the latter two are online interviews). The interview process is almost the same, that is to say, Chongqing University asked a lot of English during the interview. There was no English interview in Northeast University, but I chose Southeast University in the end.
Three guarantees research experience
① Don't be discouraged in the face of difficulties
In the first half of my research, I was a thorough loser. I was rejected continuously, which greatly shocked my confidence. I even wondered if I would not have offer. Of course, according to the experience of senior and senior students, it is impossible.
So when I went to Southeast University for an interview, I straightened out my mind in time. During the interview, I didn't answer my professional questions very well, but I showed my creativity and patents to the interviewing teacher, because I think the teacher may not pay much attention to your theoretical knowledge. After all, it's dead. They care more about your hands-on ability and you On the spot adaptability.
In general, your interview may not be smooth, but you must not be discouraged, let alone give up. As long as you show your best side to the teacher, you will be able to succeed.
② Take the initiative, don't be shy
In addition to preparing the interview content before the interview, in fact, many off-site efforts are also very important. Before the interview, if you can, you can contact the teacher of relevant major in advance, introduce yourself to him, and show your determination to come to his research group. If you can, it's also good to meet in advance, maybe it will bring you a surprise.
Of course, if you don't go to the teacher you contacted for postgraduate study, you must tell the teacher in advance (it's important to draw the key points), the reason for the teacher and your apology. In addition to contacting the teachers, you can also contact the elders and sisters who went to your school before, and ask them about the interview process and the type of questions. Don't be embarrassed and don't ask. These preparations are also very important.
③ Prepare actively, don't be nervous
Before each interview, the school will inform you by email or phone in advance, which generally includes the interview process and the content of the professional class questions. Of course, all you need to do is to have a look at them and master the most basic knowledge. Remember to recite the Chinese and English self introduction fluently. During the interview, do not be nervous, just OK.

My research has come to an end for the time being. During this period, I have experienced a lot and learned a lot. With the help of many people, I hope my experience and experience can help others. I wish every student can go to an ideal university.
