At the beginning of 2020, the sudden epidemic affected the hearts of every teacher, student and alumni of the Civil Engineering College of Southeast University, and everyone was actively thinking about how to do their best to support the anti epidemic front.

At 22:00 p.m. on February 13, a message in the wechat group attracted the attention of the teachers of the school of Civil Engineering: the children of the teachers of Southeast University, Dr. Xu Ke from Boston University in the United States and his team are raising funds to purchase medical materials such as masks for the front line of Hubei epidemic, but there is a funding gap and there is no way to go.
Seeing this news, the teachers of the college are boiling, and all of them express their feelings in the form of transfer. At the same time, the southeast Civil Engineering Alumni group of 5093 undergraduate grade group and 0597 master class are also making voluntary donations. In just over an hour, 196 people donated 250454.32 yuan in total, of which 175642 yuan was donated to the education foundation of Southeast University, which was used to purchase anti epidemic materials.

Dr. Xu Ke and his team were greatly encouraged by the enthusiastic contributions of teachers and some alumni of the school of civil engineering. They continued to expand their scope and find suitable materials all over the world. On February 16, Xu Ke sent a letter to all 3M dealers in Peru through his classmate Li zheqian, and finally found 20000 3M N95 1860 masks produced in 2019 with the most urgent epidemic prevention line and the highest medical level in a 3M authorized dealer in the suburb of Lima, the capital.
This batch of masks, together with some protective clothing purchased in the early stage, need about 600000 yuan in total, and the funding gap is still large. Just as the school of civil engineering is planning to launch donation activities among a wider range of alumni, the education foundation of Southeast University, after learning about this, extended its assistance, promised to bear all the differences, and coordinated the implementation of procurement and other related procedures.
Peru's mask dealers and mailing staff also gave warm help to the purchase. In order to help Xu Ke's team get the information at the first time, a Peruvian dealer's elder sister even told her the password of the work email directly. Even in the days when the price of the mask fluctuated abnormally, she did not increase the price according to the market situation. Peru's freight companies in the payment is not all arrived in the case of early delivery, the first time to rescue China's epidemic line.

After determining the source of funds and goods, Southeast University Education Foundation, ed foundation, CUHK hospital and relevant teachers of Civil Engineering College jointly set up a working group, together with Xu Ke and Li Zheqi, to overcome the difficulties in quality control, contract, language, time difference, transportation, customs and other aspects, and transport 20000 masks to CUHK Affiliated Hospital in the shortest time, And timely distributed to the front line of Hubei epidemic situation through Zhongda Hospital.
