QUESTION1
Editor: what are the main tasks in Antarctica?
Wu Changde: in terms of work, I took the initiative to carry out physical examination and daily medical security for the team members from the snowdragon boat, and as the only doctor in the Antarctic inland, I regularly carried out physical health monitoring for all the team members, and completed the polar high altitude and extreme cold physiological monitoring and sampling project of this scientific examination, and taught the use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation after work. In addition to the medical work, I still give consideration to the logistics work such as helping the kitchen and driving. I also assist my teammates to complete the energy construction and other engineering projects of Taishan station, including the installation of wind turbines, solar photovoltaic, unattended power supply and other equipment, as well as the astronomical observation, ice core snow core sampling and other scientific research projects.
QUESTION2
Editor: what is the most unforgettable thing for you?
Antarctic Research
Wu Changde: at Taishan station, there is basically no connection with the outside world. Every day, a business call with Zhongshan station is also to report the working condition of Taishan station, the health condition of team members and the condition of vehicles. The way we get news is also a few pieces of news that the staff of Zhongshan Station told us by phone. It's the only way for us to get external information, which is also the most anticipated time of the day.
QUESTION3
Editor: what is the biggest harvest of the trip to Antarctica?
Wu Changde: in the extreme environment of Antarctica, I have honed my will even more. I don't think I will be afraid of any difficulty. Believe in your teammates, help your teammates, overcome it and finish it together. This is the biggest gain of my trip.
