——Suzhou Hushuguan central primary school carries out stem curriculum design training
In order to speed up the promotion of stem education from concept to practice, further enhance the ability of education and teaching, and improve the comprehensive quality of students, on April 27, 2020, Suzhou Hushuguan Central Primary School specially invited the person in charge of the stem curriculum development team of Southeast University to come to the school to conduct professional training for stem education team members. All science and information teachers, key teachers of Chinese and mathematics attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Gao Lan explained the significance of stem course, and hoped that everyone could have a more comprehensive understanding of stem through training, and make clear what stem is, what is the relationship between stem course and discipline, how we use stem course to implement talent training and classroom innovation, and what is the relationship between stem course and our current classroom teaching.
Afterwards, the course director of stem in Southeast University popularized the meaning of stem and its source for teachers. Then it analyzes stem curriculum from three aspects of "stem curriculum design", "stem curriculum system" and "stem Curriculum Context", and makes a case introduction of "interdisciplinary thematic activities".
The president of the University pointed out that we should use stem courses creatively, break the discipline barriers, and let students understand that knowledge is used to solve problems in practice. As teachers, we should make full use of stem curriculum to stimulate students' interest in learning, guide students to pay attention to practical problems, pay attention to learning in real situations, and cultivate students' sense of inquiry and practical ability.
After the meeting, the teachers visited the "stem classroom" together and observed the operation of stem course on the spot.
This training has deepened teachers' understanding of stem courses and laid a solid foundation for the application and implementation of stem courses in schools. I believe that in the near future, Hu Xiaojiang will take advantage of this Dongfeng to continue to develop and win glory!
