Modified silicone oil: a chemical revolution of functional customization
Modified silicone oil breaks through the performance limitations of traditional silicone oil by introducing functional groups. Amino modified silicone oil (such as OFX series) becomes the core component of textile softeners due to the strong interaction between amino groups and fibers, which can significantly improve the anti-static and smoothness of fabrics. Polyether modified silicone oil (such as TSF4708) endows silicone oil with water solubility through hydrophilic polyether segments, and is widely used in cleaning products such as shampoo and shower gel, solving the problem of traditional silicone oil accumulation. Epoxy modified silicone oil is commonly used as a leveling agent and adhesive in coatings due to its high reactivity, which can enhance the adhesion and glossiness of coatings. Fluorosilicone oil, through the introduction of fluorocarbon segments, combines oil repellency and chemical resistance, and is used as a lubricant in extreme environments in the aerospace and automotive industries. The core advantage of modified silicone oil lies in its customizability, but the complex synthesis process also increases costs.
