Traditional mineral oils often fail due to high-temperature evaporation or oxidation in this scenario, while silicone oils, with their unique molecular structure, can maintain stable lubrication performance at high temperatures of 200 ℃. This chain like polymer composed of silicon oxygen bonds (Si-O) has three times the degree of free rotation of its molecular chains compared to hydrocarbons, allowing silicone oil to form a stable lubricating film at the 0.1 μ m level even under extreme working conditions.
In the testing of aviation engine bearings, the use of methyl phenyl silicone oil as a lubricating medium for components has increased its service life by 47% compared to traditional lubricants. More noteworthy is that the compression resistance of silicone oil is 20 times that of mineral oil, making it an ideal damping material for spacecraft gyroscopes. When the satellite experiences severe temperature fluctuations in orbit, silicone oil can maintain the vibration attenuation coefficient of precision instruments below 0.02 through the flexible adjustment of molecular chains.
