Cosmetics grade silicone oil: the invisible guardian of beauty and skincare
Cosmetic grade silicone oil, represented by polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), has become the core component of beauty products due to its low surface tension, high chemical stability, and film-forming properties. In face cream, 0.5% -2% PDMS can form a breathable protective film, which can lock moisture while avoiding pore blockage; Adding 3% -5% silicone oil to liquid foundation can improve the ductility and achieve the "zero powder feeling" makeup effect. The experimental data shows that the silicone oil foundation make-up can still keep makeup for 8 hours at 40 ℃, and the permeability test shows that the skin respiration rate only drops by 12%, which is far lower than the traditional oil composition.
