Aviation silicone oil: performance benchmark in extreme environments
Aviation grade silicone oil (fluorosilicone oil) maintains viscosity stability within the range of -60 β to 300 β. When used in aircraft hydraulic systems, the leakage rate decreases from 0.5mL/min to 0.02mL/min. In engine lubrication, its oxidation stability (rotary oxygen bomb method) reaches 1000 minutes, which is three times that of traditional mineral oil. The maintenance data of a certain civil aviation aircraft shows that silicone oil lubricant has extended the component replacement cycle from 5000 hours to 15000 hours.
