Silicone oil (vulcanized silicone oil) used in metal processing can extend tool life by three times in cutting fluid, and reduce surface roughness from Ra3.2 μ m to Ra1.6 μ m. In the wire drawing process, 0.3% silicone oil lotion can reduce the wire breaking rate from 5% to 0.2%, and increase the wire strength by 15%. According to statistics from a certain automotive parts company, silicone oil additives have reduced processing costs by 22% and increased product qualification rates to 99.5%.
