Methyl vinyl silicone oil and hydroxyl silicone oil: role division in crosslinking reaction
Differences in functional positioning:

Methyl vinyl silicone oil: As a liquid silicone rubber base adhesive, it undergoes a hydrosilylation reaction between vinyl (1% -8%) and hydrogen containing silicone oil, forming a three-dimensional network structure and improving temperature resistance to 250 ℃.
Hydroxyl silicone oil: As a structural control agent, it regulates the molecular weight distribution of silicone rubber and prevents structuring by reacting the terminal hydroxyl group (- OH) with the silicon hydroxyl group on the surface of white carbon black.
Processing technology impact:
Methyl vinyl silicone oil: In the high-temperature vulcanization (HTV) process, the vinyl content affects the crosslinking density. For every 1% increase in content, the tensile strength increases by 0.5 MPa.
Hydroxy silicone oil: In room temperature vulcanization (RTV) process, the hydroxyl content (4% -8%) determines the vulcanization rate, and for every 1% decrease in content, the vulcanization time is extended by 20%.
Typical formula ratio: Methyl vinyl silicone oil accounts for 60% -70% of the liquid silicone rubber, while hydroxyl silicone oil is added in an amount of 0.5% -2%. The two work together to achieve a balance between processability and physical properties.
