Improvement of the comprehensive coating performance of ink production by using silicone oil

Modified silicone oil is added to the formulations of printing ink and UV varnish to specifically address issues such as ink bubbling, uneven coating, product scratching, and poor adhesion. It is suitable for all scenarios including packaging printing, book and magazine color printing, and film printing.
During high-speed ink mixing and continuous ink supply, foam tends to accumulate, causing incomplete printing patterns and pinholes. A small amount of silicone oil can effectively suppress foam for a long time, ensuring continuous printing without interruption. When applying UV varnish, leveling silicone oil enables the varnish to spread evenly, resulting in a shiny and smooth surface on the printed product, enhancing the texture of packaging products.
The silicone oil coating on the surface of printed films has a self-maintenance and water-repellent effect, making packaging bags less prone to scratching. Water stains and oil spills can be wiped clean with a single wipe. At the same time, the silicone oil reduces ink static electricity, preventing ink flying and pattern shifts during high-speed film printing. For food packaging inks, manufacturers have introduced low-volatile food-contact grade silicone oil, which does not release harmful substances and meets food packaging safety regulations.
Currently, printing ink factories in China are gradually replacing traditional inefficient additives. Multi-functional composite modified silicone oil has become the mainstream procurement category, and the market size of silicone oil in the printing industry is steadily expanding.
