Introduction to the National Standard Index of Silica
Fumed silica, also known as fumed silica, has excellent reinforcing, thickening, thixotropic and other properties, and is widely used in rubber, coatings, adhesives, inks, colloidal batteries, composite insulators and other industrial fields to improve product performance. It played an important role. According to statistics, the total consumption of fumed silica in my country is currently about 12,000 tons per year, which is growing at a relatively rapid rate. By 2010, the total consumption is expected to exceed 20,000 tons per year. However, due to the lack of national standards and industry standards, the production and sales of domestic fumed silica have been in a disordered state. GB/T20020-2005 "Fused Silica" was revised and adopted ISO3262-20:2000E, covering hydrophilic and hydrophobic fumed silica products. This standard is also the first national standard for fumed silica in the world. Its promulgation and implementation will play an important role in regulating my country's fumed silica market and improving the technical level of fumed silica.

Silica is a general term for white powdery X-ray amorphous silicic acid and silicate products, mainly referring to precipitated silica, fumed silica, ultrafine silica gel and aerogel, also including powdered silica Synthetic aluminum silicate and calcium silicate, etc. Silicais a porous substance, and its composition can be represented by SiO2·nH2O, where nH2O exists in the form of surface hydroxyl groups. Soluble in caustic alkali and hydrofluoric acid, insoluble in water, solvents and acids (except hydrofluoric acid). High temperature resistance, non-flammable, odorless, odorless, with good electrical insulation.
