Is silane coupling agent toxic?
The boiling point of most silane coupling agents is very high, and they will not volatilize under normal temperature conditions, so it is not necessary to take respiratory problems into account. However, because they are prone to hydrolysis reaction when encountering water to generate some compounds that are irritating to human skin, it is better to wear relevant protective gloves when using them. Ammoniopropyl silane usually refers to KH-550, which is relatively easy to hydrolyze.
