How does hydroxy silicone oil cure?
It is impossible for dimethyl silicone oil to solidify, but hydroxy silicone oil can solidify and form a film, and the solidification can be catalyzed by acid.
Except for branched silicone oils or silicone resins with high content of T or Q links, other silicone oils will not be brittle even if they are filmed. After curing, silicone resins with high content of T links have high strength and strong adhesion. Scratch resistant, while hydroxyl silicone oil cured films are softer.
