There are various types of silicone oil, which can be divided into the following main types based on the different organic groups:

Methyl silicone oil: The most commonly used silicone oil, with all organic groups being methyl.
Diethyl silicone oil: Similar in performance to dimethyl silicone oil, but slightly inferior in high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, and better in low temperature resistance and lubricity than dimethyl silicone oil.
Benzyl silicone oil: also known as poly (methylphenylsiloxane), has excellent radiation resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance, UV resistance, and chemical resistance.
Methyl hydrogen containing silicone oil: a colorless and transparent oily substance that, under the action of alcohol and alkali, breaks the Si-H bond and releases hydrogen gas. Under the action of platinum catalyst, Si-H bonds can undergo addition reactions with alkenes.
Methyl vinyl silicone oil: a silicone material with excellent high temperature resistance, good lubrication effect, excellent electrical insulation and chemical stability, as well as crosslinkable properties.
Hydroxy silicone oil: a linear polydimethylsiloxane with hydroxyl end groups, which has excellent wet and slippery properties, temperature resistance, adhesion, and low surface tension.
In addition, there are various modified silicone oils such as amino modified silicone oil, epoxy modified silicone oil, polyether modified silicone oil, carboxyl modified silicone oil, alcohol hydroxyl modified silicone oil, phenolic hydroxyl modified silicone oil, sulfur modified silicone oil, etc.
