Recently, the research team led by Professor Jiang Weixiang of the school of information science and engineering of Southeast University has made important progress in the field of 6G communication. The innovative achievement of "optical driven programmable super surface research" has recently been published in the international first-class academic journal natural electronics.
Jiang Weixiang, born in 1981, is from Shiyan town (formerly Hougang town), Dongtai City. He is now vice president and doctoral supervisor of School of information science and engineering, Southeast University. He is mainly engaged in stealth theory, antenna design and research of new electromagnetic functional devices.
"Large scale multiple input multiple output array technology and millimeter wave full spectrum access technology can well meet the needs of large capacity in the fifth generation mobile communication (5g) era. However, for 5g (b5g) and 6G (sixth generation) mobile communications, the above technologies face the challenges of using a large number of RF devices, high system complexity and high cost, so it is necessary to minimize the number of RF devices and antennas and reduce the cost. "According to Jiang Weixiang, the super surface device has become a promising solution and is expected to be used in b5g and 6G.
Professor Jiang Weixiang's research group belongs to the academician team of Cui Tiejun of Southeast University. The research group cooperates with Professor Qiu Chengwei of National University of Singapore and Professor Luo Yu of Nanyang University of technology to propose, design and implement an optical driven digital coding super surface that can program electromagnetic functions. On the optical driven digital hypersurface platform developed by our research group, we can use the visible light intensity to adjust the reflection phase response of microwave in real time, solve the problem of crosstalk between microwave signal and DC signal caused by the need of a large number of complex physical wires for multi-channel electronic control hypersurface in the past, and realize the non-contact remote programmable control. The corresponding authors of the paper published in the Journal of natural electronics are Professor Jiang Weixiang of Southeast University, Professor Cui Tiejun and Professor Qiu Chengwei of National University of Singapore. The first author is Zhang Xinge, a doctoral student under the guidance of Jiang Weixiang.
Jiang Weixiang is the author of one hundred excellent doctoral theses in 2013. He has twice won the second prize of National Natural Science, the first prize of natural science of the Ministry of education, the "young scientist" award of International Radio Science Union, and participated in the "national young talents seminar" of the State Administration College (Central Party School). At the same time, he co authored one English and one Chinese monograph, and published more than 90 SCI papers in international high-level academic journals. His research achievements have been selected as "research highlights" by international academic journals for many times, and his published papers have been cited more than 3000 times by peers at home and abroad.
