Nanjing is a city with a long history and profound connotation. Southeast University grew up in such a city. It started from Sanjiang normal school, which was founded in 1902. It has a history of 117 years. Now Southeast University has become a "big family" with four memorial buildings, Jiulong lake and dingjiaqiao campuses. Sipailou campus is located in the site of Guozijian of Ming Dynasty. For thousands of years, the sound of books has been continuous, and it is an academic palace. The Wutong trees are large in the campus, providing summer shelter; the pools of water are bright and clear, showing the future generations drinking water and thinking; the dome of the auditorium has Renaissance style, dignified and low-key and not having customs. The Six Dynasties pine, known as the eastern elephant sign, is also in the fourth archway campus. It is said that it was planted by Emperor Liang Wudi. After the war, it has survived to this day. It is tenacious to encourage students. Walking in Jiulong Lake campus, I always feel the atmosphere of scientific and technological innovation: the unmanned bus in the campus, the star corridor of teaching one; the students' science and technology festival in spring, the youth college science camp in summer. If the long history is one side of the business card of Southeast University, the other side must be the innovation and exploration spirit of constantly climbing the technological peak. Dingjiaqiao campus is mainly the location of Medical College, next to which is the Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Dongda. It is convenient for students to accumulate practical experience. In addition, for the development of the school and the needs of national construction, Dongda has also set up campuses in Wuxi and Suzhou.
With a history of more than 100 years, Southeast University has always cherished the world and the motherland. It has trained many excellent builders and successors. More than 200 academicians have worked and studied here, including "lunar exploration plan", "Three Gorges Project" and "500" The figure of the easterners in the national major projects, such as the meter caliber radio telescope, Beijing Sub Center, Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, high-speed rail technology, Antarctic scientific research, island building in the South China Sea, wireless charging and so on, is the original mission and responsibility of Southeast University. From Sanjiang normal school's concept of "chewing vegetable roots and doing great things", to the spirit of "national, democratic and scientific" south high school, to the motto of "stop at perfection" of National Southeast University, to the ethos of "honesty, simplicity, heroism and greatness" of National Central University, and then to the ethos of "preciseness, realism, unity and progress" of Nanjing Institute of technology, it was renamed Southeast University in 1980s After that, the spirit of "stop at the best" once again became the spiritual benchmark for Dongren to forge ahead. For more than three years, Dongda has been studying in Jiulong Lake campus. It likes magpies, pigeons, thrushes and woodpeckers when walking. It likes Li Wenzheng library, which has a large number of books in its solemn appearance, cool atmosphere and intelligent facilities. It also likes the honest and realistic attitude towards people and learning taught by Dongda. Like the Southeast University in Nanjing, the historical precipitation is the driving force, and the cultural immersion is the foundation of sailing. It can take root and draw nutrients down, and grow vigorously.
