What is the boiling point of silicone oil
There are many types of silicone oil, and different types have different boiling points. Generally, the boiling point is higher than 100 degrees Celsius. Taking ordinary silicone oil as an example, its boiling point is 101℃. Silicone oil is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic and non-volatile liquid. Silicone oil can be used in advanced lubricating oil, shock-proof oil, insulating oil, defoamer, mold release agent, etc. The viscosity-temperature performance of silicone oil is the best among liquid lubricants, and the viscosity changes little in a wide temperature range.
Silicone oils generally refer to linear polysiloxane products that remain liquid at room temperature. Generally divided into two types of silicone oil and modified silicone oil. The most commonly used silicone oil is also called ordinary silicone oil, which has good chemical stability, insulation and good hydrophobicity.
The organic group of silicone oil can also be replaced by other organic groups to improve certain properties of silicone oil and apply to various uses.
Silicone oil has many special properties, such as low temperature and viscosity coefficient, high and low temperature resistance, anti-oxidation, high flash point, low volatility, good insulation, low surface tension, no corrosion to metals, non-toxic and so on. Because of these properties, silicone oils are excellent for many applications.
