Other effects of cyclopentasiloxane

Cyclopentasiloxane, a kind of synthetic silicone oil, referred to as D5, is widely used in cosmetics and human care products. The ingredient is colorless, odorless, and volatile. It is often added to serums, lotions, foundations, makeup primers and conditioners to produce a smooth and silky feel. D5 has a large molecular weight, is easily volatile, and cannot be absorbed by the skin.
Use of polydimethylsiloxane
1. Electrical products
Polydimethylsiloxane, which can be used for electronic connectors in the electrical and electronic industry, etc.
2. Leather products
Polydemethylsiloxane, can be used for fiber, leather: water repellent, softener, hand improver, defoamer in dyeing industry, lubrication of sewing thread. The emulsion can be applied to the fatliquoring of leather to enhance its hydrophobicity, softness and comfort. Treating leather surfaces with it enhances abrasion resistance, water resistance and mold release.
3. Brightener
Polydimethylsiloxane is suitable for use as a brightener ingredient for automobiles, furniture, footwear, cement products, etc., including automotive brighteners, foam furniture cleaners, vinyl roof cleaners, and building material brightening formulations. The least amount of dosage can achieve the best results.
4. Release agent
Polydimethylsiloxane can be used as a release agent for rubber or plastic products (brake plates, screw heads, plugs, etc.), EVA shoe materials, directly or diluted 10-200 times with low-hardness water. Stable and extremely versatile.
5. Lubricant
Polydimethylsiloxane can be used as a lubricant for extruding rubber products such as conveyor belts. It can be used as a lubricant in the following textile processes: yarn weaving, lubrication of sutures, production of socks and underwear, lubrication of sewing needles, fiberglass filters.
