In the face of the new crown epidemic, the whole nation has worked together to build a defense line against the epidemic. Southeast University launched "Southeast University Open faith class one war 'epidemic' cloud lecture" for Youth League members to answer questions and solve doubts for students and fight "epidemic" together.
At 9:00 p.m. on April 17, 2020, lecture 37 of Southeast University's 2020 open faith class one and "epidemic" cloud lecture opened. Mou Xiaodong, chief psychiatrist, intermediate psychotherapist and national second-class psychotherapist of affiliated Zhongda Hospital of Southeast University, as the speaker, brought us a live speech entitled "psychological protection against" epidemic "in the tide of resumption of work and resumption of study".
Lecture Review
With the improvement of the situation of prevention and control of the new crown epidemic, most enterprises return to work and resume production, and the tide of psychological stress response caused by the epidemic is gradually declining. People and students who have taken a long holiday at home need to master the correct psychological adjustment mode while scientifically protecting diseases. For the overwhelming epidemic news on the Internet, some people will appear anxious and uneasy, afraid of their own infection. For this, Dr. Mou Xiaodong makes an interpretation from a professional perspective.
During the epidemic, the importance of mental health can be highlighted in particular, and psychiatrists play an important role in the front line of anti epidemic. In this cloud speech, Mr. Mou answered our questions about the psychological protection of "epidemic" in the tide of returning to work and returning to school.
01
Current situation
Starting from the current situation of the epidemic, Mr. Mou popularized the current situation of the epidemic at home and abroad, and compared the data in different periods, providing us with an intuitive understanding.
At the same time, Mr. Mou also shared with us the story of Li Lei, a psychiatrist, a 2019 level medical doctoral student of Southeast University School of medicine, in Wuhan, looking back on such a period from the perspective of a psychiatrist.
While feeling the severity of the epidemic and the grim situation, Dr. Li Lei expressed his sense of honor as a psychiatrist who can contribute to Wuhan and the country at a critical moment. With Li Lei's story, Mr. Mou opened the curtain for tonight's cloud speech. While delivering knowledge, he also delivered attitude and increased temperature.

Question and answer session
Q
Teachers, graduate students have research pressure at home how to adjust themselves?
Mou Xiaodong: it's very important to maintain social support. When we are in school, we can communicate with our classmates, which can fully reduce our pressure. Communicate with each other, vent and give ideas, which can make your own pressure shift. If you have too much pressure, as a psychiatrist, I suggest you do some relaxation and physical exercises. For example, if you can't go out during the epidemic, you can do more yoga training.
Q
How to deal with the great pressure when I feel like I can't finish something?
Mou Xiaodong: what I suggest is to ensure adequate sleep and emotional stability. On this premise, coupled with adequate social support, I believe there will be a large amount of time for scientific research. I hope you can also make some achievements in scientific research.
Q
Teacher, when the graduation thesis can't be written down, he dare not contact with his tutor frequently, which leads to anxiety. How to adjust?
Mou Xiaodong: there is a word called "academic paper procrastination". In fact, a good way to solve this problem is to report your progress to your tutor every month. Although this process is painful, it is very helpful to help you finish your paper on time. I can give you two suggestions: increase self-awareness (increase self-awareness through attention training) and do a good job in time management (priority first).
Classmates' feelings
For a war epidemic, we have witnessed too much pain, but we have also gained countless emotions; for a war epidemic, we have seen many shortcomings and problems, but we have also really realized what is China's power; for a war epidemic, how many people went to the front line, and how many people stuck to the rear, fearless for the safety of the country and the people. I hope that I can also go to the front to contribute to the fight against the epidemic. The confession of Mr. Mou Xiaodong made me have a deeper understanding of doctors' feelings of home and responsibility, and also strengthened my belief in being a medical student and striving to be a qualified doctor. At the same time, from the professional point of view, Mr. Mou made a detailed elaboration on how to prevent diseases from the psychological level, which provided a good example for the smooth resumption of our undergraduate study, and also gave me a more full understanding of the key role of psychotherapy in disease treatment and maintaining a good mentality of medical staff.

In the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, mental health will be affected to a certain extent, whether it is patients, medical staff, or people who live at home quietly supporting the anti epidemic work. Therefore, correct psychological adjustment is very important. For patients with new crowns, temperature is more important than specialty. As for us who live at home, Mou explained how to overcome sleep problems, how to overcome anxiety and how to overcome panic. I have benefited a lot from this study. I learned that I can increase my consciousness through mindfulness training, task decomposition and other methods. This epidemic is not only a disaster, but also a test. I hope that we can face the test directly and usher in psychological growth and transformation.

In today's epidemic situation, students can't go back to school, only stay at home, far away from the familiar campus life and normal teaching and learning mode, students' mental health is often ignored. Doctor Mou's lecture is a timely rain. Many of the problems he mentioned cover all kinds of psychological problems that students will encounter at home. Nowadays, at home, students do not have face-to-face teaching guidance in their study, nor do they have the independent study of field operation experiments, nor can they have exchanges and discussions with students anytime and anywhere. There are great differences in learning methods and personal learning efficiency. Especially for the undergraduates and postgraduates who are close to graduation, they face greater research pressure and paper burden Heavier. Dr. Mou's method teaches us to adjust our bad mood in time, and to do a good job in time management and daily "to do list" to urge ourselves to improve learning efficiency. We need to learn not only how to deal with anxiety, but also how to improve it.
Mental health is a problem that is easy to be ignored, but as an excellent college student, we should learn to judge our psychological state and how to deal with bad emotions. When we have difficulties, we should also be able to seek help and guidance from professionals in time. During the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia, we can not communicate face-to-face with teachers and classmates on campus, nor can we operate in the laboratory. Some of us are in our own room, learning with electronic equipment and teachers, and some are alone. We should consciously self-discipline, cherish the peace of the current side, grasp the opportunity, improve ourselves and forge ahead, instead of wasting time and self abandoning, so as to live up to the hard work of the medical staff who are fighting at the front line and all the great people who have contributed to the fight against the epidemic.
